Love & Respect: A Marriage Conference

One key word can revolutionize any marriage, according to Dr. Emerson Eggerichs, author of the book, Love & Respect. Eggerichs says happiness and harmony are not achieved by love alone. Yes, love is vital, especially for the wife, but the author says a husband’s need for respect is equally important—he is designed to need respect.

On Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, Dr. Eggerichs and his wife, Sarah, will share their wisdom at the Love & Respect Marriage Conference at South Hills Bible Chapel in McMurray, Pennsylvania.

In Ecclesiastes 4:12, we learn that, “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

A covenant marriage is made up of three entities: God, husband, and wife. While two are better than one, the power of three, resulting from inviting Christ into your marriage, will strengthen it and bind you together during times when acting in your own power would lead to failure.

Every now and then the news runs an article about the national divorce rates, and if you haven’t noticed…they are on the rise. Marriages are crumbling and families are falling apart. Though there are countless reasons for this, at the heart of it all is a lack of skills and understanding about what it takes to be in a healthy and loving marriage.

Starting Thursday, February 26 all that will change. Throughout the spring, from 7-9pm, Emmanuel Christian Church will be hosting a marriage enrichment ministry to enable our communities to stem this rising tide of unhealthy marriages and save families from the tragedy of divorce.

Join us for this fun, uplifting, and much needed class where you will take home relevant skills to enrich your marriage. Even if you do not consider your marriage to be “troubled,” this class will only make it more enjoyable and healthy.
